Staged Play – Scenes from "Freedom High"
Colvard Student Union, Foster Ballroom
5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

FREEDOM HIGH focuses on a week in 1964 when black Civil Rights veterans trained white volunteers to help them work in Mississippi registering blacks to vote. When news arrives from Mississippi that three Civil Rights workers have been murdered, everyone involved in the training is forced to decide whether the project can continue. The play asks the question, "How can we keep belief in social change alive in dangerous, skeptical times?"

Playwright - Adam Kraar

Director - Dr. Donna Clevinger
