Mary Louise Alexander has a B.S. degree in Biology, an MA degree in Management, and a Ph.D. degree in School Administration. She started her career in secondary education prior to entering the United States Air Force in 1974. She retired from the Air Force in 1994 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and reentered education, teaching at Columbus High School, Columbus, MS before moving into higher education in 2000. In higher education she has served as Director of Student Teaching (Alcorn State University), Coordinator of Teacher Education/Assistant Professor of Education (Mississippi University of Women), and Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership (Mississippi State University). She is currently Assistant to the Mississippi State University President and Interim Director of Diversity & Equity Programs.
