Curriculum Vita
Michael Vinson Williams received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history and sociology, Master of Arts in history, and the Doctor of Philosophy in history from the University of Mississippi. He is a member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. His research interests include the sociopolitical struggle for equality of African Americans, the Civil Rights movement, black intellectuals and radicalism, and various aspects of African history. His current research project examines the life and activism of NAACP Field Secretary Medgar Wiley Evers and the meaning of Civil Rights struggle in Mississippi.
