Curriculum Vita
Professor Giesen earned his B.A. from DePauw University in 1995, his M.A. from University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1998, and the doctorate at the University of Georgia in 2004. His publications have appeared in the Encyclopedia of American Environmental History and the New Georgia Encyclopedia. His book reviews have appeared in Civil War History and the North Carolina Historical Review. He was a recipient of the Carl Vipperman Outstanding Teaching Award at the University of Georgia in 2000. His research focuses on southern agriculture, and he is completing a book on the Boll Weevil.
